The engine in your car cannot function properly without engine oil. Its major purpose is to preserve internal moving parts by supplying lubrication in order to reduce friction and prevent metal from coming into touch with other metals. Since oil loses its important qualities over time, replacing the oil and the filter on a consistent basis is necessary to ensure the continued health of your Porche.
Step 1: Get Your Vehicle And Your Place Of Work Ready
- Drive around for 5 minutes to warm up the engine. The oil will flow more smoothly as a result of this.
- Put on protective gear like gloves and goggles and gather the necessary tools and components.
- Park the car in a level spot.
- Pull back the engine cover.
Step 2: Gain Access To The Oil Filter Located In The Engine
- First, you'll need to raise the rear spoiler. To accomplish this, first, ensure that the ignition is turned on, and then push the spoiler button located on the center console until the indicator light comes on.
- The next step is to press and keep holding the button that controls the spoiler until the indicator disappears; this will place the spoiler into service mode.
- Open the engine deck lid and replace the plastic frame that sits atop the flexible air intake tubing.
- After that, gently pull up on each side to unlatch the plastic engine cover shielding the two fans, and then push the flexi air intake tube through the resulting opening.
- Take off the fan that is located on the passenger side of the vehicle by lifting it up and removing the wiring connector.
- Lifting up the air intake tube will allow you to remove it, but you need to be careful not to damage any of the wirings that are nearby.
Step 3: Drain The Oil From The Car's Engine
- To facilitate engine oil drainage, unscrew the oil fill lid.
- Move the car so that the rear wheels can slide beneath it, then follow the video's instructions to remove the stopper from the oil drain.
- The oil drain plug should be placed beneath the huge oil catch pan.
- Wearing protective rubber gloves, crank the drain plug removal tool counterclockwise until the plug pops out.
- Please wait 15 minutes before attempting to use the oil again.
Step 4: Change The Oil Filter In The Car
- In the engine compartment, stuff paper towels or rags around the oil filter housing and the air inlet.
- Get out your 36mm socket and take out the oil filter housing.
- Carefully use a little flathead screwdriver to pry off the gasket from the oil filter cap without scratching the cap.
- The replacement gasket can be installed on the housing by sliding it into place and then lightly oiling the seal.
- Take out the old oil filter and put in the new one, making sure the new filter is seated properly.
- The oil filter cap should be reinstalled and torqued to 19 ft-lbs.
Step 5: Put The Oil Drain Plug Back In
- Put in a new plug for the drain. The drain plug's tabs on its outer edge must line up with the oil pan's tabs.
Step 6: Fill The Engine With New Oil
- To avoid spilling, only add 7 liters of new oil through the funnel.
Step 7: Gather Up Your Tools And Tidy Up
- Keep in mind that motor oil is toxic to ecosystems. You can recycle your used motor oil at any nearby auto parts store.
