When you are looking among the many luxury sports cars out there, the 2022 Porsche 911 should always come to mind. This now has launched the GTS trim, and is gifted with larger iron brake rotors when compared to its predecessor. Android Auto compatibility, together with other improvements, are worth taking note of.
In the case of the 2021 Nissan GT-R, it promises to give you an exhilarating ride with its rocketlike acceleration. Note, however, that the ride no longer offers the Track and 50th Anniversary editions.
Design & Style
The 911 is one ride that always works on sophistication. It maintains that level of sportiness that makes it noteworthy as a sports car, but it never fails to mesmerize would-be buyers with how it improves the styling inside. Now, you will find high-class materials in the cabin, making it look more opulent than usual. The simple styling works as well, because there are well-bolstered seats that promise comfort to users. A large center cupholder works a lot to the advantage of passengers too. Cargo space is more than decent for this ride that can sit up to four passengers.
In the case of the two-door coupe Nissan GT-R, you will notice that there is not much to be impressed about in this aspect. There are comfortable seats inside, at least for front passengers, but such is not the case at the back. While it has the standard leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather upholstery, it lacks highlighting to make the cabin standout among its rivals, the Porsche 911 included.
Technology & Safety
The 2022 Porsche 911 offers a lot of upgrades in terms of technology. Aside from launching the wired Android Auto for the first time as a standard, it also now integrates Apple CarPlay wirelessly. Voice commands, and a Wi-Fi hot spot is also available. What makes it even more interesting is you have the choice between 12 or 13 speakers. When it comes to driver aids, it includes night vision, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beams, automated emergency braking, and forward collision warning.
Using an eight-inch touch screen with that simple menu layout, it is easy to be impressed with the Nissan GT-R's infotainment interface. The effort lacks some more steam, since the graphics display is dated, boring, and totally plain. What is even more disappointing in this aspect is the fact that it is short in terms of safety aids. All it has are the rearview camera, and front and rear parking sensors. There is no option for available advanced driver aids.
Performance
The 2022 Porsche 911 uses the same engine configuration for all its models. Results for each model vary, though, with the base trim having 379 horsepower of results, the S variant with 443 horsepower, and the GTS releasing 473 horsepower.
In the case of the GT-R, it really has brawny engines as promised, being able to aspirate 565 horsepower and 600 horsepower, depending on the model. Throttle response is not expressive for these engines, though.
The Bottom Line
The 2022 Porsche 911 is one attractive ride, with usable technologies, and reliable safety equipment. Its powerful engines are dependable as well. There are still plenty of things the 2021 Nissan GT-R needs to work out on if it wants to overtake the 911's position in the luxury sports car rankings.
